  • Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) was granted the Letter of Permission (LOP) by the Medical Council of India (MCI) in 2003 to start its MBBS program with a total of 100 seats. In 2009, the MCI granted MMCHRI permission to increase its MBBS seats from 100 to 150. Recently, in 2020, MBBS seats were further increased from 150 to 250.
  • Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) started its postgraduate courses (MD/MS) in 2009. Since then, the college has expanded its postgraduate programs to include a wide range of specialties such as General Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, Radiology, and more Currently, MMCHRI has a total of 86 postgraduate seats sanctioned every year across various specialties. In the year 2011 superspeciality courses were also started in Cardiology, Neurology, Urology Medical Gastroenterology.
  • In 2018 – Pre entry level National Accreditation Board (NABH) for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) Accreditation: MMCH&RI received NABH accreditation in 2018. This accreditation recognizes the hospital’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to patients and ensuring patient safety.
  • In 2019, Kayakalp assessment, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCH&RI) underwent the Kayakalp assessment and was awarded the first prize in the district level for cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control. Kayakalp is an initiative by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, aimed at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control in public health facilities.
  • In 2020, NABL for molecular testing, Virology lab (BSL II) In 2020, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for its molecular testing and virology laboratory (BSL II). The NABL accreditation is a recognition of the laboratory’s competence and quality in conducting molecular testing for various diseases, including COVID – 19
  • In 2021, NABH for blood bank. In 2021, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) for its blood bank. The NABH accreditation is a recognition of the blood bank’s compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety in blood transfusion practices
  • ISO 9001:2015 Certification: In 2022 Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute has been certified with the ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system
