  • Every student shall undergo a period of certified study extending over 4 years 6 months’ academic years followed by one year compulsory rotating internship
  • Admission of students of MMCH&RI is made strictly on merit based on an All India Examination (NEET) as prescribed by the MCI and UGC Regulations and in consistence with the National policy in this behalf from time to time.
  • Selection will be made after counseling as per the merit list. Classes will be started in August. The Degrees are awarded by the University for the successful candidates.

Eligibility

  • He/She should have completed the Age of 17 Years on or before 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.
  • Candidates belonging to all Categories expect Schedules Caste/ Schedules Tribe for admission to the Course Should have obtained not less than 50% mark in Aggregate in Physics , Chemistry And Biology (Botany/Zoology) Bio Technology at the qualifying Examination (Academic Stream 10 +2 /HSE/PUC) after a period of 12 years study.
  • Candidates who have studied abroad, the equivalent qualification as determined by the Association of Indian Universities shall form the guidelines to determine eligibility and should have the passed in the Subjects of Physics Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks aggregate.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled caste /scheduled tribe, or other Back ward class the minimum marks for admission shall be 40% 50% for General category.

About Dean

Prof. Dr.K.V.Rajasekhar M.D., DMRD., FIMSA is the Dean of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Kanchipuram.

He completed his Medical graduation from Stanley Medical College in the year 1986 and Diploma in Medical Radiodiagnosis from Madurai Medical College in 1991. He stood first in the Tamilnadu Postgraduate entrance examination and pursued his M.D.(Radiodiagnosis) from the prestigious Madras Medical College in 1995.

He has since then been involved as a teacher and consultant in the field of Diagnostic Radiology for more than 25 years.

He has rich experience in Tamilnadu Medical services, posted as Assistant surgeon in Primary health centres, Assistant professor of Radiology in Barnard Institute of Radiology, Government General Hospital for 6 years; Associate Professor of Radiology in Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem for 1 year.

Later, in 2004 he joined Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute as Associate Professor of Radiology for 3 years and as Professor of Radiology for the past 15 years.

He has immense experience in administration discharging his duties as Head of Radiology Department for 15 years, Heading Students Council Committee & Green Audit Committee for 3 yrs and as Dean of MMCHRI for past 2 Years.

He is also the Chief and Head of Imaging Department at Swami Vivekananda Diagnostic Centre (Lions Club Charitable Organisation), Chennai for the past 22 years.

He has 16 publications to his credit and delivered several lectures in various Radiological meets and conferences.

He has organized International, National and State level Radiological conferences.

He has been an Examiner for Radiodiagnosis Postgraduate & B Sc Radiography courses in several Universities for past 20 years.

He has been a Guide for PhD students for more than 10 years.

Some of his Notable Achievements are being the President of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (TN & Py chapter) from 2010 to 2011 & Secretary of IRIA (TN & PY chapter) from 2004 to 2008; Joint Secretary of Central IRIA from 2009 to 2010; Member of Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Radiological Imaging for 12 years

He is a recipient of “Ashok Mukerjee Young Radiologist “Award – in the year 2001 and “Prof. Arthur Daniel Memorial Oration” award for the year 2017 during the State Annual Radiology Conference held at Tuticorin.

He received several honours for rendering exemplary charitable service in the field of Radiological Imaging from Lions club of Anna Nagar. Recently he received Life time achievement award in the field of Radiology and Imaging from Indian Radiological & Imaging Association.

He is a member of Indian Medical Association, Indian Radiological & Imaging Association, Indian College of Radiology and Imaging, Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Fellow of International Medical Science Academy and American Institute of Radiologic Pathology.

He is also actively involved in the field of Sports, has won several awards in Tamilnadu Table Tennis Veterans Tournaments, represented Tamilnadu in National Veterans Table Tennis Championship, Jaipur in 2018 & Sonepat in 2019. Represented India in World Veterans Table Tennis Championship Las Vegas in 2018.

Last but not the least he is an expert in performing Yogasanas and has been taking classes on Yoga for several years.
